Consolidated Learning Services has paired with the American Academy of Professional Coding (AAPC) to offer two courses to prepare you for national certification as a medical coder.   With 30 million more people now eligible for medical insurance, this is the new in demand job.  Certified coders earn more, and are worth more to the practice.  A medical coder with certification and one year experience earns well into the $40,000 salary range. 

This course is arranged through the AAPC, with a nationally certified coding instructor, who will walk you through the course.  these instructors are not just certified coders, they are certified to teach coding.   Materials are included and are sent to you by the AAPC.  The instructor will interact with you throughout this course to prepare you for the national certification exam. 

Please note that there are two types of certification, one for office based billing, and one for hospital/ambulatory surgery based billing.  You can certainly have both certifications, and it will make you more marketable, especially to a surgical practice, but they are two separate courses and two separate certification exams.  

Pre-requisites are medical terminology and anatomy.   If you have never taken them, we are offering them in a self study format on the spring sale for $49 tuition.
