**Please note:  Many colleges do have an option to challenge credit courses by exam.  It is usually not advertised, and it is up to the individual department head to decide if they feel you have studied equivalent material.  In community college settings this is typically a one credit course and a pre-requisite to admission or continued admission in the program.
